The Australian Cattle Dog has been deduced in 19 century to graze horned livestock on the big ranches. The dog capable independently to graze huge herd was necessary to owners of ranch, to protect it, in some situations to operate independently, but at the same time always to obey the owner.

For creation of such dog such breeds as a dingo and Rough collies have been used. Later to the received hybrids blood Australian Kelpie, a bull terrier and Dalmatina has been added.

The dog working easy and patiently, capable to graze horned livestock on extensive distances in heat and dust conditions has been as a result received.

In 1893 Robert Kaleski has made the standard an Australian Cattle Dog which has been approved in Australia in 1903.

In 1980 breed has been officially recognised by the American Film Ligichesky Club.

In 1988 in Australia one of versions an Australian Cattle Dog - a short-tail kettl-mastiff has been officially recognised, and on July, 13th, 2005 FCI officially recognised this version as separate breed.

Australian Cattle Dog - a compact, strong working dog, extraordinary quick and powerful. She is an ideal dog for cattlemen which, despite the small growth, easily copes with herd.

The kettl-mastiff is stocky, but is very strong and dared. Possesses uncommon mind. He/she is the fine security guard, suspicious to strangers, but true and kind to the owner. It is self-assured, quickly we train, but requires the good head.

Getting this dog for the house, avoid working lines of cultivation as such dogs can be very active and vigorous. The Kettl-mastiff requires consecutive education and daily attention.
