The Beauceron (the shepherd's dog from Is barefooted) by right is considered one of the oldest breeds of the French sheep-dogs. As according to naturalists of a XVIII-th century - Bjuffona, Linneja, Kjuve, and according to livestock specialists of a XIX-th century - Kornevena, Menena, Deshambra, - it occurs as the crow flies from well-known "a peat dog", living in the Stone Age and being the ancestor of the majority of modern sheep-dogs.
In works of authors of a XVII-th century the shepherd's dog, "sheepdog" is mentioned without the further specifications. The first detailed certificate has been published in 1809 in "a management on agriculture" abbey Roze.
From It is barefooted, but also from Bri And the abbey gives us the first description of the one who was, most likely, the ancestor of a Beauceron: "These qualities meet at sentry dogs a dense and rigid wool, evil eyes and a black nose, with dark red lips, with a heavy head, a wide forehead, a long neck and the big paws".
It is not necessary to think that two breeds about which the sacred father speaks, have been at that time already fixed. But it is obvious that any practical selection already went and has led eventually to occurrence of two different dogs: Rough which accompanied herds, and other, Smoouth protection serving day and are sewn up sheep.
It is not necessary to consider also that the Beauceron native land is It is barefooted. The name of this breed has appeared for the first time from under Pierre Menena's feather, the founder of the newspaper "Cattle breeder" which wished to designate somehow only distinction between two friends who lived, by the way, both in Bose, and in Bri. But as one of these dogs was called for a long time as a sheep-dog from Bri, have counted convenient to christen other sheep-dog "a sheepdog from Is barefooted".

Beauceron This "ceremony" took place in January, 1896 when the special commission has defined characteristics of two these breeds. On a joint of centuries not all Beaucerons were identical - black with red. Many of them were one-colour: grey, black or reddish; others were a flaky and Danish colour. Under the influence of fans of dogs the first selectors preferred black dogs with the red has fallen, received the name "a red bottom" - "ba-ruzh". Presently this colour is the core for this breed; 3 800 puppies of such colour annually are born.
As to harlequins (30-50 registration in a year) concerning their roots of opinion disperse. Many assert that they always existed in that kind in which we know them today. It is an error! Many facts say to us that this version has appeared recently.
Not dependent on fashion whims, the beauceron represents the constant value, protected by reasonably spent selection policy. Magnificent uniformity of a livestock is as a result reached, refusals in registration are very rare. If to uniformity of an ex-terrier to add fantastic stability of character, it becomes clear that this breed will safely step over a boundary of the second millenium.
The FRENCH SHORTHAIRED SHEPHERD Among fans of these dogs there are some celebrities, and among Them the French writer Colette who had many beaucerons with red has fallen, bright representatives of this judicious breed, thinking sheepdogs and noble partners.
Except the old shepherd's trade beaucerons have got since then set of new specialities. The army uses them as police dogs, hour, watchmen, experts in explosives, messenger or coherent. The police often resorts to their help when it is necessary to find the wounded or disappeared people. But the beauceron renders the most various services to civilians.
At beaucerons the sense of responsibility is very strongly developed. Allocated with faultless memory and supernatural observation, it seldom barks and only in serious occasions. The owner of a beauceron who well knows the dog, can, without leaving the house, the nobility who comes nearer to its dwelling, whether the car someone from acquaintances Has approached, whether the dog has run or someone has passed the stranger, it so much time about barks, how many has occurred events.
He/she is the excellent security guard and the defender. But do not forget that you for it "its sheep". It willingly extends the role of a guardian angel to all members of a family, including children. Some, assured of the force, behave with children absolutely foolishly. Others show sometimes more courageous impulses, but remain nevertheless reliable partners for games and walks.
Beauceron Beauceron - the unpretentious dog who is not demanding almost any leaving: to comb out a brush with a scraper of times in a week (in a moult a bit more often) and bathing one or two once a year is everything that is required. Watch also a condition of ears and the doubled spurs. The Beauceron, such impressive by sight, is one of two breeds which most often should be advised concerning problems of mental development: it is timidity, block, fear at a meeting with any people and other symptoms.
To this list it is possible to add a self-checking lack because of what a beauceron often consider as an aggressive dog. In the course of games of the owner with a dog there are stings, sometimes the painful. These deviations to which pay attention too late, can sometimes have the bad forecast. Treatment happens effective in 85 % of cases, but it long - from 4 till 18 months - and demands a great patience from associates. It is not necessary to hesitate to speak about these problems with your veterinary surgeon; the earlier it can diagnose illness, the the treatment period will be shorter.
Certainly, remains absolutely fair corrected that the puppies bought from diligent and serious selectors, developing their sociability and it is correct their stimulating, become magnificent partners. Provided that new owners will support an accurate hierarchical order in the family circle.
