The Bern sennenhund - most known of four versions of the Swiss shepherd's dogs. All of them got divorced in the areas of the country separated from each other and consequently have remained in the pure state without impurity of other breeds.
Other three breeds - an appenzeller a sennenhund, an entlebucher a sennenhund and the big Swiss sennenhund - the same magnificent shepherds and house pupils, as well as their well-known relative.
Fans of breed consider that its formation was affected by the dogs of the Roman soldiers delivered more two thousand years ago to Switzerland. But unfortunately, after the First World War all have forgotten about these dogs. Only some inhabitants of Bern held them at themselves.
The Bern sennenhund In 1892 revival of this breed which has crowned success, thanks to the cynologist, the geologist and the expert of dogs to professor Albert Hajmu has begun. The first exhibitions with participation of these dogs have passed in 1902-1904, and in 1907 few selectors of Burgdorfa have decided to advance this breed.
In three years at an exhibition were shown hardly more than 100 Djurbehlerov, and just since then this breed has received the present name - the Bern sennenhund.
These charming dogs above average growth, are obedient, vigilant, harmoniously combined. On the historical native land - Switzerland - it is used as a universal working dog or as dogs-partners.
