The English bulldog occurs from ancient Asian Molosses, but it has been deduced completely in Great Britain.

The today's English bulldog has absolutely other character which is distinct from its ancestors.

The bulldog got divorced for struggle against bulls (from here and its name "bull" - a bull), this dog is aggressive and fast in an attack, it sufficed a bull powerful jaws, and could hang in such position as much as necessary - the flat muzzle allowed a dog to breathe easy, without unclenching jaws.


In 19 century bloody sports have been forbidden also to a bulldog extinction threatened. But there were fans of breed who have continued cultivation and now an English bulldog - an excellent house dog and a dog-partner.

In apartment it is quiet and behaves quietly, he can sleep and rejoice all the day to inaction, but it does not take out loneliness. The bulldog requires human attention and dialogue with the owner. He/she is the present member of a family who needs the place behind a table and on a sofa.

It is mistrustful and suspicious to strangers, it is brave and vigilant. But the English bulldog is never aggressive is the quiet and counterbalanced dog.

The smooth wool of an English bulldog practically does not require leaving. It needs to be brushed sometimes, if necessary to wash. Folds on a muzzle are obligatory for wiping every day a damp rag. Consider also that bulldogs very dribbling.

Do not leave a bulldog on the sun or in the car for long time, they very badly transfer a heat. Do not load a bulldog with the big physical activities and long run.
