It is a lot of centuries back development of navigation and navigation in the Mediterranean has led to active metabolism by cultural, scientific and other values between the western and east people.
These mutual relations, mainly, commercial character, promoted also to an exchange of domestic animals among which the place of honour was occupied with the sentry and security dogs used in port and neritic settlements for protection against pirates and robbers.
The special preference was given to large, powerful dogs with the big head and strong dens. These dogs introduced breed of mastiffs from Iberijsky peninsula and were widely used in terrain of Spain as hunting and dog fights (for battle both with other dogs, and with bulls).
They accompanied king Jacob 1 in its aggressive campaigns and thus in 1230 have got to the Balearic islands. In 17 century the Utrecht agreement on which the island Menorka and other terrains have departed in possession of Great Britain was accepted.
Ca de Bou the Malorksky mastiff Englishmen have brought with themselves to the Balearic islands own dogs for cracked eggs and watch-dogs and have crossed them to the mastiffs by then also populating these islands.
In the beginning of 18 centuries the fashion included bullfight, and there was a necessity for an etching dog. The British dwelling on these islands, began to search for a breed of dog, capable to battle to bulls. This ability the name of a dog «Ca de Bou» - the bovine dog speaks.

Ca de Bou the Malorksky mastiff Ca de Bou or the Malorksky mastiff from the Balearic islands and island Malorka - extremely brave and independent dog with fighting individuality. In 1964 does not remain any pure-blooded dog of this breed, therefore Ca de Bou full extinction threatened.
Admirers of this breed have begun careful restoration of the Malorksky mastiff. That we see now - result of restoration of ancient phylum dog fights. At restoration Ca de Bou such breeds as Ca de Bestiar, an English bulldog and a bull terrier were used.
Now Ca de Bou it is improbably popular as a lap-dog. He/she is an adequate and cheerful dog, not aggressive, but always ready to protection. She is a hardy and strong dog, vigorous and temperamental, sinewy and strong.
The Malorksky mastiff is clever and is easily trained, but he never will manage to be subordinated to the full. It is independent and resolute. Care of this dog is improbably simple. The smooth wool practically does not demand leaving. The dog is not sensitive to weather, easily adapts to any conditions.
