The Belgian sheep-dog was generated by the end of 19 centuries in Belgium where basically drew duty of the security guard and the shepherd.

By forces of cynologists it has been deduced four versions of the Belgian sheep-dog, differing on a colour and wool type: a laekenois, a groenendael, a malinois and a tervueren.

All four versions are united under the uniform standard and have no cardinal distinctions both in behaviour, and in working qualities. Their distinction only on appearance.

The Belgian sheep-dog - an unpretentious and hardy dog, with considerably expressed security instinct, to the obedient owner and able to work independently if that is demanded by a situation.

BELGIAN SHEEPDOG

The laekenois quieter and counterbalanced, than other "Belgians", also possesses the same qualities, as its "colleagues", but nevertheless it is smallest of all four versions.

The rigid wool is not exacting in leaving. The dog is steady against a bad weather and various diseases, is hardy and unpretentious. Can contain in the street in the presence of a warm kennel.
