This dog occurs from islands Tenerifes and Gran Kanaria, in the Canary Archipelago. Ancestors of a Dogo Canario, possibly, the Majorero Canario, and also hybrids of this breed with the dogs brought on islands is.
These hybrids have generated new pedigree group of dogs of type "mastiff", - the average size, strong and brawny, but extraordinary quick and active is main feature of Molosses.
