TATRA SHEEPDOG

The native land of these imposing sentry dogs is located in high mountains of Tatra mountains. In spite of the fact that there are they in this region as believe, some centuries, working out of the standard and the directed cultivation have followed only last decades.

For the first time about this dog it has been written in one German magazine in 1938 year where it has been named by "a mountain dog". In 1967 year breed has been recognised FCI.

In the homeland only separate copies of Podhalanski sheepdogs still graze cattle, the majority of them is used on sentry and security service. The Podhalanski sheepdog - quiet, reserved, sharp and very vigilant dog, possesses a high threshold of irritation and seldom happens sharp.

Aspiration to protect the house and "the" family at it in blood. Special training on a security dog as many pleasant qualities of its character are thus lost is not required to it.

The dog perfectly is trained and can quite participate in various competitions, and also he/she is the irreplaceable partner, the watchman and the security guard.

The Podhalanski sheepdog does not like to work on compulsion, and from it it is not necessary to expect absolute obedience and submission - everything that it does, it does only because of love to the owner.

Close contact to "the" family is necessary for it, thus is better it feels in the house with the big site when itself can solve, whether walk to it in the street or remain at home.

The life in a city, especially in apartment of the many-storeyed house is comprehensible to it. At the correct maintenance and education its aggression in a family is absolutely excluded.

In relation to strangers the Podhalanski sheepdog behaves with watchfulness and very frostily, but does not attack, and a teeth shows only as a last resort.

A white wool to look after easily enough: it is enough to comb of it once a week. The Podhalanski sheepdog takes pleasure in any employment with "the" people: loves long walks, wish to gambol with the owner or cosy to be arranged at his feet.
