The Terrier Brasileiro has been bred on the basis of a sleek-haired fox terrier and many other breeds of dog brought to Brazil.

These small dogs were crossed to the Brazilian port dogs - fine hunters of rats. Quite probably that Jack Russell a terrier was the relative of the Brazilian terrier also.

The Brazilian of paddles also likes to run about, is betrayed to the owner, counterbalanced and is not cocky. She is unusually hardy dog, becomes the fine companion of the runner or the traveller.
